Employment 1996 – Present Studio Artist, Illinois Body of work: figurative, nature, site specific installations, masks and pottery. Use of high and low fire clay bodies, glazes, oxides, wax and acrylic paints. Clientele is established through galleries, art shows, interior designers and website.
Fall 2006 – Present Ceramics Instructor Vi at The Glen, Glenview, Illinois Teach the foundations of ceramics to seniors in an assisted living community. Low fire clay body and glazes are utilized. Responsible for inventory and firings.
Fall 2005 – Present Ceramics Instructor Oakton Community College, Illinois Teach the foundations of ceramics in The Continuing Education Department. Low fire clay body and glazes are utilized. Responsible for inventory and reclaim of clay using a pug mill.
1998 – 2000 Sculpture Teacher Artworks of Oak Park, Illinois Weekly, teach hand building techniques and surface design to children ages 4-13. Additionally, teach three hour clay parties for adults and children.
1992 – 1993 Ceramics Instructor New Community Corporation, Newark, New Jersey Weekly, teach lessons in painting bisque fired items to children ages 7-13.
Public Art 1999 “Toe River”, Penland School of Crafts, North Carolina This sixteen person collaborative piece was solicited and approved by a committee that included the Director of Penland School of Crafts. Participated in designing, making and installing a handmade clay mural. Project was overseen by Public Art Muralist, Carlos Alves of Miami, Florida.
